About us
Thirty years of forage in Hallingdal
A small, specific undertaking that has been doing one thing at Gol since before the current register existed in its present form. What follows is the part that can be checked in a public record — which is the only part worth writing down.
Stake Gunhild is a Norwegian enkeltpersonforetak — a sole proprietorship — growing annual forage and green-fodder crops on ground in Gol, in the Hallingdal valley, and harvesting timber from its own forest as a secondary activity.
That legal form is worth stating rather than glossing over. A sole proprietorship has no share capital, no separate legal personality and no limited liability. There is no board, no group structure and no holding company: there is a holding, a person responsible for it, and a register entry anyone can read. For a buyer, the practical consequence is on the record — an enkeltpersonforetak has no separate legal personality and no limited liability: the holder is personally liable for the undertaking’s obligations. counterparties should take that into account when contracting.
Farming at 60.7° north is not a scaled-down version of farming further south; it is a different problem. The ley spends five months under snow, the growing window is short and moves by weeks between years, and the whole operation is arranged around a first cut in the second half of June and a second cut that August may or may not permit. Timothy is grown here because it survives that, and the holding exists because a valley that can overwinter a ley can sell forage to places that cannot grow their own.
Everything sold is sold business to business, in bulk, from the farm. Stake Gunhild is a registered sole proprietorship (enkeltpersonforetak) supplying agricultural crop material in bulk to businesses. It sells to farms, feed producers and agricultural buyers — not to consumers, and not in retail quantities.

Company history
Three dates, all of them in the register
No milestones that cannot be checked. Each entry below names the exact field in the Brønnøysund record it comes from, so it can be verified rather than believed.
- 199202.01.1992
Entered in the Norwegian VAT register
The Merverdiavgiftsregisteret entry dates from 02.01.1992 — three years before the Central Coordinating Register record. It is the earliest date the public register carries for this undertaking, and the reason the site does not simply say "since 1995".

Why this page has no photographs of tractors
Stock photography of somebody else’s farm, presented as this one, is a misrepresentation — a small one, but the same kind as an invented statistic. This site would rather carry a register field than a picture of a field that is not ours.
